FAMILY : ONCHIDIIDAE - Onchidiids
are true slugs lacking an internal shell. The family is in need of revision
with identification difficult. In the Brunswick River system they can be found in
many habitats, at the base of mangrove trees in mud, along the riverbank
on rocks and on fallen trees,
and at the back of mangrove areas at the upper tide mark. With considerable
variation in appearance depending on where they are found,
it is hard to determine how many species there are in the
Brunswick but I believe there is at least four or five. |
