Hastings Point as it normally looks at low tide,

and after a big sand drift - Aug 08
This area is often subject to
sand being pushed by swell and current, and then deposited
in the rock pools. It is usually on a small scale with the areas inundated
recovering quickly.
This is the worst I have seen it and it will take considerable time to
regenerate as almost
all of the intertidal and subtidal area is covered, with only bare rock
exposed.
